These days I am working on a novel. I have been for awhile now. I intended to write about the writer's process and the process of meditation coinciding. Natalie Goldberg, author of Writing Down The Bones, and a Zen Buddist practitioner, writes some humorous and inspirational insights…

Today has already been eventful. After prayer and meditation this morning and a final (for now) blast of mental affliction stamped into my private, hand-written, home journal, I walked to the convenience store just down the street, because now I want to read from library books I have borrowed and am out of coffee. Coffee still goes with morning reading after prayer and meditation for this sentient being. What will become of this luscious, lecherous habit...
I've got my green cloth, re-useable g…

Last night I listened to a broadcast of the Pennsylvania primary results via NPR on my antiquated but still useful radio. I have purposely not watched television for about four months, except for an occasional stop at a convenience store where Fox News is broadcasting while the cashier is tallying my groceries and bagging them. (Does Fox News appear at nearly all Dunkin' Donuts and convenience stores where you live, too?)
I felt accosted by the blasting of yellow broadcast journalism that elect…

The Dalai Lama laughs with Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire after he said that men — not women — were to blame for the world's problems. He appeared before 50,000 people on the second day of his visit to Seattle. (from MSNBC.COM)

If the people are simple and free from desire then the clever ones never dare to interfere. ~The Tao
This morning my mind is racing as if my mind has been attacked. Wants and desires, fighting boredom, pressing into prayer in order to commune with God and knowing that approach is strife. I breathe. I breathe deeply and listen to the breathing only. My mind grows quiet. I remember my love for God. I thank God and ask for help. Then I feel how it is my ego producing wants and something else intru…

Good day!
I left my cave of meditation and Silence to see human beings, cars, and snow in Spring. I'll be retiring to my cave again soon.
Last night I dreamed and gained insight that is needed on my journey. Thank you God for continuing to answer my prayers.
Love,
Izzy

This morning I began with prayer. I am close to leaving this other world I entered. As of tomorrow I will have the means to do that. When I leave the place I am staying, I will be entering into silence, and a much needed spiritual retreat. Self-care has become profoundly important to me now. Establishing a pattern of invoking the Holy Spirit each morning I awaken has, too.
I am grateful to God for this opportunity.

The reason the government wants increased surveillance without warrants is really quite simple and if someone has mentioned this reason, I have not seen it. The reason is because they have so diminished their ability to collect real intelligence that they are trying anything to buck up their so-called intelligence.. Thus, they feel the need to check 'everything' that comes across the wire, whether it is on the phone or the internet.
What scanning every email or every phone call amounts to, is tr…
