This morning my mind is racing as if my mind has been attacked. Wants and desires, fighting boredom, pressing into prayer in order to commune with God and knowing that approach is strife. I breathe. I breathe deeply and listen to the breathing only. My mind grows quiet. I remember my love for God. I thank God and ask for help. Then I feel how it is my ego producing wants and something else intrudes. I am restless but do not doubt God. The restlessness come from myself.
I look outside the window at a church steeple. Atop the steeple appears the word "soon", but as I look closer, I see that it is a weather vane and compass with the letters S and N with a design between them that is like two flattened Os. It was only a moment, but it expanded this reality for a second...
